I am writing to try to connect personally with the writer of the original blog. I have planned my whole life to 'retire' to Belize. I have skipped all around the country in my travels, saving the best for last and for my permanent haunt. I am ready to settle down now at fifty. Need advice on ev-e-rything! My D-day is about November 1 of 2011. I don't have to have a permanent place to live right off the bat, but some suggestions for areas. I'm single...love to scuba dive and, although am social, am not a hard partier...more love the companionship of people around my own vintage who are fairly clean living, care about the environment and are socially responsible. But not a militant to any degree on any one thing. Don't want to be in the middle of a 'tourist-y' area either if at all possible. I look forward to hearing from the knowledgeable...

Considering the post is from over a year ago, I am not surprised the link didn't work.

However, if you read carefully you'll notice it says to fill out the info and the writer will get back to you. If this gringo lives in Belize I am sure he has contacts. I follow the Costa Rica Gringo, the Ecuador Gringo, and the Panama Gringo and they have always been helpful!

The link you have provided on this site: www.gringocentral.com/network is non-existent. How is that supposed to be more helpful than a site with outdated information? Considering that there is at least *some* information on belizetourism.net, I don't think I'd be alone in saying that it's a lot more informational and helpful than a site with absolutely NO information. . .
