A report from a very relaxed Gringo in Belize.

As a frequent visitor to many Latin American countries, I have visited a great number of spas and had a decent number of not-so-decent massages. I haven’t been able to find just the right place that matches my needs… until now.

The Asian Garden Day Spa in San Pedro is hailed on AsianGardenDaySpamany travel sites as being one of the best spa experiences vacationers to Belize have had, and this Gringo can verify, it lives up to its reputation.

The Asian Garden Day Spa offers the standard array of treatments and procedures: Reflexology, Body Scrubs and Wraps, facials, Hot Stone Therapy, Deep Tissue Massage, and my personal favorite, Thai Massage.

Brian, one of the owners, had studied in Thailand and is trained in Thai massage. The Thai massage is like nothing I have ever experienced before. It was invigorating! It’s like getting a workout without doing anything. Brian is great; he really stretches out out good. (He and his wife Carmen are the spa’s owners.) I highly recommend the Thai massage to anyone in the San Pedro area, it works by applying gentle pressure with the hands and feet and a wide variety of passive stretching. It has been described as a combination of doing yoga without the effort, and receiving acupressure at the same time!

The folks at San Pedro Garden Day Spa really know what they are doing; the massage therapists are certified in the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Thailand.

The Asian Garden Day Spa is located on Coconut Drive in the heart of San Pedro, right across from Ramon’s Village Resort.
