Belize is seeing a major influx of foreigners, only most are not coming from the United States. Thanks to the rising values of the Canadian dollar and the euro, Belize is seeing a lot more “international” traffic.
(The Belizean currency is tied to the U.S. dollar, at a rate of two Belizean dollars to one U.S. dollar.)
It’s not hard to see why investors are turning to Belize: the country enjoys a stable economy, is English-speaking, and has better prices than the Bahamas!
Increased interest means increased prices; the cost of real estate is on the rise in Belize. However, there are still plenty of bargains to be had, and the expected continual increase of property values makes investment a fine choice.
Instead of going for the typical northern coast favorites like San Pedro, or the south’s Placencia, try the Corozal Area of Northern Belize near Mexico, or the western rain forest Cayo District.
Come and join the growing crowd of Canadians and Europeans. Now is the time to act, before demand pushes prices so high that Belize might as well be the Bahamas!
