One-Stop Souvenir Shopping in Belize City

Let’s face it; a great majority of us, this Gringo included, hate shopping for souvenirs, however, bringing back a little trinket for yourself or a loved one from your travels is almost a requirement. If your final destination is Belize you can be thankful for the Belize Tourism Village, a one-stop shopping center for local crafts and more.

The Belize Tourism Village is located on the Belize River, just around the corner from the Radisson Hotel. The Village was created to allow cruise ship visitors a mean to experience a bit of Belize in just one day; nearly 5000 tourists land here per day during the high season. The tourism village is a modern building which houses over 50 stores and businesses, givingBel4 you an extensive variety of souvenirs and more. You need a passport of another form of ID to enter.

From this location you can also find many companies offering day tours to the Mayan ruins, caving or tubing. Boats docked along the shore can take you to nearby islands where you can snorkel.

In the Belize Tourism Village there is no way to hide you are a tourist, but stand tall and proud in your Gringoness. No need to worry about standing out here. A word to the wise: watch your pockets/purses/bags and Fanny packs; there is no better place to prey on tourists than when they are all together, shopping.
